Air Max Lab Event 1

On Saturday Nike Au opened the doors for the first time to the Air Max Lab. The Air Max Lab is a multi storey building in Sydney taken over by Nike AU in the Lead up to Air Max Day on the 26th. On Saturday they presented the Max talk, a discussion with a panel of Air Max Experts on the evolution of the Air Max and the sneaker game.

Woody, the founder of sneaker freaker, Jazz Bonifacio (instagram: @jazzbonifacio) sneaker designer and enthusiast and all round sneaker legend Christopher Kevin Au (instagram: @chrisropherkevinau) who is also one of the key members of Life Without Andy, Spent two hours of there time leading an interesting and eye opening conversation surrounding Air Max's and the sneaker game as a whole.

It Was amazing to hear from three different generations of sneaker head. Each with varying takes on the state of the sneaker game at the moment particularly young resellers and the hype surrounding shoes today. Woody in particular found it strange that young kids had access to such money and were spending so much on kicks when in his day it was something idolised but that you may not have.

The other big difference between the three panelists were there favourite air max models, Jazz is a big fan of 90's, Woody a big fan of 1's and Chris a huge supporter of the 95 (the 95's on Display were from Chris' collection, the 90's from Jazz's). It was fantastic to see s many sneaker head sin the same place sharing an interesting conversation on what some people may consider a fairly mundane items but for me and many many others shoes are an emotional fantastic thing that has so much meaning in our lives! Next for Nike AU at The Max Lab is the Artists of Air showcase on the 17th of February. I hope to see even more familiar faces around for that!

Supreme S/S16

Supreme dropped there look book and preview of S/S16 late yesterday and it absolutely blew me away. For the first time in a while I am impressed by the whole collection not just individual pieces. I feel that they have perfected the mix of basics and loud pieces and it really sees a return of the flashy obnoxious supreme pieces that have been so famous (see the Alfa Romeo inspired bomber, the leather jacket with diamanté filled text and the faux fur jacket) while not for everyone these pieces really showcase what has made supreme famous, there willingness to push boundaries on what is tasteful and too gaudy. While balancing the collection with fantastic basics/staples (blur motion hoodie, box logo tee's, taped seam jackets and an incredible selection of shorts, jeans and pants.) The overall 90's feel of the collection I kind of expected, due to streetwear as a whole being very influenced by the 90's right now case in point guess X ASAP, particular pieces such as the striped turtleneck and velour will be a surprise favourite for supreme's clientele this season as well as several of the retro feeling button ups. You can view the look book and collection here: http://www.supremenewyork.com/index, and get your cop list ready, I've included several pics of my favourite pieces that I will hopefully be wearing very soon. The first drop is 18th of February and it will be interesting to see what Supreme releases on the first of many exciting Thursday mornings for those of us trying to cop.
